Send for the doctor!!!!
Am I absolutely stark, staring, mad? Have all my faculties deserted me?
I have just px'd the best bike I have ever had, my RT1200 for a yellow GS. WHAT? Yes, it's true.
So I offer this brief confessional to the good folk of the GSer squadron.
I am a bikeaholic;
I have always been and probably will always be.
Ok, so now Iv'e said it.
The moment the proverbial ashtray is full, I'm off down to BVM (stroud) and making inappropriate eyes at all and everything.
The boss down there rubs his hands in glee.
But niggling since the Summer was my humiliation at the hands of the GS's at Rockingham. (I was riding a Ducati 999)
The fact that I was also dusted up by two RT's is neatly forgotten.
I needed a bike that any idiot could ride, hell if they could lap me in first gear.
..ME on a 999 :...then the GS must be ann idiot proof bike. Right? (no credit given here to excellent riding of said Gsers)
This excuse isn't working, is it?
I'm just a feckless bikeaholic.
Nothing I have had in recent years has managed even 10000 miles, or barely even 12 months.
So that's why I'm now on a bright yellow GS. And surely THIS is the one for me. For now. But then I said that when I had the GS1150
.
But deep down, the RT (bike number 26) will go down in my own personal history as the best. But regrets?
I'll have few. But I'm not going to worry...
Perhaps until an RT1200 zooms past, two up....in appalling weather. Dry and comfortable.
The one consolation? My sons universally thought their Dad had gone soft with the RT
. Little did they know.
