Calling all spec wearers

Could try this:

I use it when there's a likely chance of fogging up (rain or cold).

Some have found it a bit tricky to apply and can leave streaks. It takes a bit of practice to get it on right - clean lenses and less fluid than you think seems to work best.

Personally, I prefer the odd streak to being total fogged up!

I dont get problems with misting, well nothing that opening the visor wont cure, but was looking to get a face mask for colder weather, anything ive tried in the past is fine whilst riding its when you have to stop at junctions/lights etc first breath and your blind.

That was my problem too - instant blank-out...

Double visor (on the System 4 - pinlock I think) and fogtech on my glasses (both sides) - I don't even need to flip the visor up when I stop at traffic lights... the fogtech stuff prevents the glasses fogging whether visor is up or down - moving or stationary. I've used it through most of the winter on some really cold days (for the southeast at least!)

Best I ever had for not misting specs or the visor is the fighter pilot style attachment in a Laser Revolution. Works really well and keeps your nose warm in winter. The drop down sun visor is a bonus. Pity that overall the helmet is s##te IMHO. Still searching for the next best thing.

:nono WARNING about washing up liquid, and other stuff, on specs lenses. In the opinion of Boots the Optician my Carl Zeise (unsure of spelling) super thin lenses with anti scratch coatings were seriously messed up by using such products. 18 months old £280 for new lenses  . However on glass and more robust plastics I find it works (ish).

Did you go to Boots as well Mr wildbeeste?

Forgot the acme solution I found at the end of the winter - had been literally starting me in the face the whole time.

Go to sports shop and get a little spray bottle of anti-fog for swimming goggles - cost next to nowt and works an absolute treat.

Yes, I use daily disposable contact lenses when I'm out on the bike for a "proper" ride. I don't wear them every day because they don't make my vision good enough for working (I work with computers) but they are fine for driving.

Also at about £1.50 a pair I couldn't afford to use them every day!

But they are more hygenic than normal lenses and you don't need to worry about cleaning solutions and the like.

I used to use a "Foggy" mask which was pretty good with my old Shoei helmet. When I bought a new Roof lid however it didn't fit properly and I gave up on it.

Me too. But it never fitted my nose properly and enhanced the effect of steaming my glasses..
