Could andyone recomend a camelpak for a days riding ?

Yes....nothing by that brand 
Their stuff is good, but being the big brand name, really expensive.
Go to Decathlon instead- they have a range of their own kit (made for them under the brand name 'Quencha') and it's very good......small rucksacks from 9l to 39 litres with built in bladders etc and all the accessories.
They also do bite valves, bladders, pipes and pipe sheaths (to keep them cool) really cheaply as well, so you can modify/adapt or replace parts.
Nothing to do with Decathlon meself, just a fan of their kit and value

army surplus stores now seem to carry a copy of camel backs again much the same sort of money as Decathlon.
or just a regular shoulder/ canvas bag and 2L water bottle from
s strapped to back of bike cos sooner or later you'll have to stop get off, fall off and then it's easy to have a break from all the fun.

Platypus... easy to get your hand in to give it a good clean...
... and much better than my Source which used to leak on occasion... causing embarrassment....

If going in Decathlon,get a 'smartube'.....just screw it onto the top of a water bottle and put the bottle in your pocket/backpack etc.It's what i prefer and i must say i have used many brands which end up splittling/tearing or just generally being left to go mouldy.
Other than that,i'd buy Kriega.

I have the little litre and a half insulated Camelbak jobbie... Love the valve on it... love the big mouthed filler for putting ice in (though I never have... =)
Hate that it only holds a litre...
I bought some platypus bags for taking to Morocco... transfered the Camelbak bite valve over to the hose on it...

Last time I spoke to him he said he uses one himself to stop de-hydration when hes climbing back up the chimneys.

one with some storage pockets for carry snacks etc
bought this one on sat in Decathlon Florence - well made and good quality materials. Cost 40 Euros. I've had cheaper ones that just wear out so I can honestly recommend this. I have another with more ppockets etc which is good on the m/bike - this one will be used on the MTB.

I used the Camelbak Mule while I was in the US on a touring holiday. I also want it for running and mountain biking.
On the motorbike it was very comfortable to wear - most of the time i didn't notice it was there. Plenty of pockets if you need them - handy for your pillion to get a wallet out and pay for tolls.
If you go to most adventure races it will be Camelbaks that people are wearing. That may be 'cos we are suckers for advertising or because they are generally good pieces of kit.
I've also used a Platypus bag in an ordinary rucksack - that worked well too.

I've also got a camelback MULE, had it for about 4 years now, been used and abused for adventure racing, mountainbiking, running, skiing and now on a motorbike. While camelback are expensive, this one is lasting and lasting and taking some serious abuse. (Think landing on sharp pointy rocks, and sliding down icy pistes etc). Its got a three litre bladder which is nearly always big enough, even for long hot days, and still has space for extra food, tools and a windproof (or spare gloves).

main thing with all of these systems is to keep em clean. i've been through three of these now, cos i get back from using it, and im too bone idle to clean the thing.. sterilising tablets work well, as does sterilising liquid for false teeth etc...

Wearing a camelback
Whichver one you get (I have had several including a Lowe Alpineone and a couple of Camelback ones and the only time I have damaged one was when I put a crampon through one, tended to replace them after a couple of years for health & safety reasons!), consider carrying it in a tankbag instead of on your back - I tend to find after a long day even a couple of litres on your back is, literally, a pain. Can aslo then buy one without the tankbag and protect/insulate it with bubble wrap and gaffer tape. Saw one the other day which came as part of a tankbag and the drinks tube was on a sort of retractable bungee, but don't know the make?

If you are willing to pay Camelbak prices then take a look at Kriega (ex. Krug), their kit is superb quality, all day comfortable to use and their offering is v. good.
I picked up a Hydra pack on sale last year and its been fantastic, my only gripe would be that full (3 litres) its quite a weight, but the pack is so well designed/fitted its not a huge issue, storage is minimal, but enough for trail riding and waterproofs, etc and you can snap on other Kriega bags.
