Guys thinking about buying another digi camera the Canon Ixus 700 (7.1mp) anybody had any experience of one?

Also not relative to this particular camera but has anyone bought a camera recently online? if so whats the cheapest place you have found?

The cheapest place I have found for the Canon is eBuyer.

Cheers

7dayshop.com are usually good on price and service.

Ebuyer is also good.

If you actually print your photos on to decent paper, then plenty of mp are good. If you only view them on the PC screen, no point paying for 7mp as the image is no better. You'd be better off spending your money on more Optical Zoom IMO.

Also remember that more mp means fewer images on any given card. You can get around this by selecting a lower resolution but then that defeats the object of buying a camera with 7mp (for instance).

When buying memory cards, if given the option (depends on type) go for the slightly more expensive Single Layer Card rather than Multi Layer - Single Layer gives a quicker write speed, allowing camera to take photos in quicker succession.

GPS can take Multi Layer cards as write speed is not an issue.

Thanks for the advice Steve, the reason I am going for the Canon IXUS 700 is size, I have a high res Canon at present with a 14x zoom albeit digital but it is simply to big and I can't be arsed carrying it about especially on the bike. I want something that will fit in my pocket, I'll just walk closer to the subject if I feel its needed.
