Other than Sid's Gentleman's Weekend, there doesn't appear to be a lot going on in our region.
That being the case, i would like to suggest that, for those of you who may be interested, we have a 'little meet' over at Woodbury Salterton. This would involve making your way down to Woodbury (Friday 17th) for beer and pub grub, with overnight accommodation at a nice campsite a few minutes walk from the pub.
Saturday morning will be a 'cook your own brekkie', or a 2 minute ride to a super farm that does a lovely breakfast and a ride from the farm.
It'll then be your choice for the Saturday evening. We can all head home after a day out, head back to the pub and then head home or, make a full weekend with two nights camping.
If there's any interest let me know and i'll get the details listed so you can book yourselves in.
This should be a good weekend, and an opportunity for the ukgser mob to acquaint themselves of a new pub and campsite, with the intention of making it a calendar regular if it's successful.

Hey MountainMan, there are a few of us nearby that like a bit of camping and i might be up for joining you on 17 May - can you post some details?
I'm hoping to pop into Brecon Beacons to camp out on Sat 11 May before joining up with the 4 Counties Bikers run out from Glos into Abergavenny & Brecon on Sun 12 May. Feel free to come along.
Cheers

Sorry Rich. Can't make this one as I'm in charge of catering at a friend's 60th birthday bash! Hopefully I'll catch up with you soon.

Ok, if there's any interest here are some details...

Browns Farm have provisionally booked us on a pitch which can take four tents. The pitch costs £13.50 for two tents and it's £7 each for the next two. It's a small, really lovely site, ideal for a small gathering. It gets booked up quickly so i'll need to know for definite if you're coming by this weekend.
As an alternative, which is also a bit more flexible, we can meet at my place and park the bikes here after dropping off camping gear at my local pub (there's no parking at the pub), and wander back down to the pub for an evening and then head over to the breakfast spot in the morning before heading out for a ride. I'll be riding with Sandy so it'll be a bit of a steady run if you're wanting to follow us. My local's The Turf, or it'll be The Diggers Rest, if you'd rather camp at Woodbury.
If no-one wants to commit to camping and would rather just come out for a pub meet, we can do that just as easily.
Let me know what you'd prefer folks, by this weekend.

Sounds like fun and so many options, I'll chat through with Mrs B and let you know by Friday night hopefully.

Are we talking the Digger's Rest for the evening pub - if so, it's a cracking place and the food was excellent the last time we ate there. :thumb2

As things stand, SWMBO & I have something else booked for that Friday evening, but if we can re-arrange and join you we'll do so - I'll let you know back asap.

Well, due to only a smidgen of interest and no actual takers, Sandy and i headed out this morning with the intention of heading down to Polpero for a spot of lunch at The Blue Peter Inn. We were also going to try and meet up with Ralphy and Banksy, as they were also heading out for a spin, otherwise we were going to drop in for a cuppa on our way back.
As it was, and due to an up to date weather guesstimate from the Beeb, i fuelled up and decided to head East, with the intention of lunch at Cerne Abbas, a visit to CW's and an ice cream at West Bay.
We had a delightful back lane meander to Cerne, where we had lunch at The New Inn. Sandy had a salad of tomatoes and grilled halumi and i had scallops with smoked cauliflower puree and a portion of triple cooke chips. The pub has recently been renovated and is a super place to stop off at. There is a lovely courtyard for sitting out in with a cool beer, though don't expect super size portions if you're eating. The food was exemplary, but a tad on the small side for your average tosser.
From there we headed down to Dorchester to say hi to all the chaps in CW's, and then on the coast road to Westbay. From there it was back to Lyme Regis and the 3052 through Seaton, Sidmouth and back home.
All in, a lovely day out, a really nice light lunch, sunshine and views galore. I guess we'll do the Polpero or a Wookey run next time we're both free and the sun's out, or i'll arrange it with Ralphy for a midweek run. I'll post on here if Sandy and i are heading out again, maybe we'll tempt you to join in for a bit of a social outing next time?
Sorry, no piccies today, we forgot the camera.:aidan
