Hi Folks,

A couple of us are planning a raid across the border :oonyack for a couple of days, is there any sites taht show campsites in the North or any personnel recommendations for sites and roads to venture down

cheers for any help

Hi Roddy,

We are heading in your direction on saturday, going up to East Loch Tarbet.
Going up the A68 to Jedburgh then across to the A72/A721/A73 and on to Loch Lomund, all good roads.

Try www.clennellhall.co.uk/ near Alwinton, beautiful area and some good Gs roads. Bellingham to Falstone cafe and trip around Keilder is also a favourite of mine

This is a great site and you can get the railway to the pub! Although if like me you are 6' 5" tall then the carriages are somewhat cramped......

I always recommend this site, between Dornie and Kyle of Lochalsh.

Reraig Campsite

Fantastic views across to Skye, great little site, and a stone's throw from the local hotel :thumb

Red Squirrel camp site in Glencoe, nearby pub the Clachaigh Inn. It doesn't any better :beerjug:

Waren Mill

Great site for camping. Good on site bar, pool etc. Walking distance (2km) to Bamburgh. Great roads and cracking fish & chips!

£15 per night per pitch, but tents larger than 5m x 5m need two pitches. Staying there in July with the family for a couple of nights. :beerjug:

there is two at warren mill (budle bay) there is the one right next to the main road which is a bit run down but the other one is a lot better with a good bar and very freindly atmospher. it is just a bit closer to bamburgh and is signposted of the main road

Warren Mill....

About half a mile past Warren Mill on the back roads there is also a good site called Glororum. Went last year, nice and quiet. No bar/clubhouse or shop.
