Camping near Shrewsbury

Yeah ive stopped there, really good facilities and 5 minute walk to park and ride into town centre, good chinese/chippy and pub close by too.
I stopped there in a camper, didnt see any tents so i would give them a call first:thumb

Definate thumbs up from me:thumb

Just got back , bloody nice setup, the facilities were cleaner than many hotels even after a whole days use. Plenty of showers & separate curtained wash basins, no queuing despite site being almost full. Loads of very friendly staff maintaining the grounds & complex to a very high standard.

Pub a short walk away and large Co-op /chippy/chinky just outside the campsite entrance.

More caravans/mobiles than tents but they do take both and from what I could see all the pitches have electrical hook up.

Phoebe loved all the ducks & rabbits in the grounds around the small lake .:thumb2:thumb:thumb:thumb

Did you go to The Grapes or The Onslow?

Went to the Grapes AL, twice. Saw the Oxon Priory on the last night (Sunday) when I popped out looking for an offy , looked good , much busier with a great play area for the kids. Where is the Onslow? The service in the Grapes was really lousy on the first visit, nearly left without eating, better 2nd time around but not brilliant.

The Onslow is in the estate across the road from the campsite. A right dump last time I was there.
If you plan on staying there again another good pub is the 4 Crosses - turn right out of the site, first right again on Shepherds lane and it brings you right to it. It's about a mile or so away. And if you don't go to the 4 Crosses and instead turn left, after a couple of miles you will come to Montford Bridge where the Salopian event was held.

The Oxon isn't too bad and I have heard the Grapes has gone downhill lately. Shame really, it was a nice little pub many years ago till' they decided to knock it all about.

You should have shouted... Lu and I would have popped down :thumb2

Just dropped in to show her the site, didn't stop for a drink. Loved the Oxon Park, very nice . We will go back again soon , see you then ? . We also took in some of the roads from your ride and some even more narrow off the beaten track ones too with some super views.
