Camping Stoves

For a trip to the unknown, MSR whisperlite, runs on anything but diesel (inc avgas)
My Whisperlite came with a separate jet for diesel.

It's not as convenient at times as a calor gas type (start-up at least needs to be done outside a tent especially if you use Ming's method that has a two foot flame leaping skyward  ) but running on petrol means fuel is never a problem.

Another vote for the Coleman 533. No jets to change as in my super expensive Primus Omnifuel. Coleman is so easy and controllable.

Coleman featherlite 422. It's an update of an older model I used in the military. I even used it well above 12,000 feet in Bolivia. Its so tough, you can use it as a football if you want.

http://www.hm-supplies.co.uk/index.html will sell you a nice one, and they still stock the old Ally container to keep it in!

Wee cheap gas stove.

Building up all my gear again after a few years, and can't justify £130 on an MSR etc., when I came across the Coleman F1 Power Stove. Just bought one from Millets.... £22-50 for a rightly powerful wee stove with an ignitor that uses standard self-seal gas canisters :thumb

Optimus nova

At £100 it is certainly not the cheapest. But, it is the only stove to my knowledge that comes complete with a fuel bottle.

It will burn any fuel including diesel or rape seed oil cleanly!

Dragonflies are ok but if you want this to be the last stove you ever buy....then it has to be the Nova. Its bullet proof.
