Campsite near Athlone??

Oi Oi. Any one know of a good campsite near Athlone or surrounding area? Coming up from Healy pass and through Limerick(if Durty Nellys is still there). Wanted to camp before setting home ward towards London, Via Dublin, Wales and Scotland (tell the wife the twat nav took me there, always works )

I would avoid Athlone, as it is a bit rough. Why not stay somewhere in Clare or Galway, much nicer. Good campsite in Doolin, co. Clare.

Enjoy yourself. I'm from Kerry and the area around Healy Pass is fabulous. Try a few backroads around Caragh Lake. Try this route maybe as well if you've time.

All depends on when the invite is! I live in Kildare and I'm driving France & Spain for June, up at the HU Overland in Enniskilen at the end of the month. July anyone?!

My wife and I are coming over last week July first Week August. We're visiting a few relatives but plan to do as much of the west coast as possible including Healy pass etc... - it would be nice to meet up with a few locals to show us the routes, if the times coinside.
