Hi
Anyone got suggestions for campsites (with a nearby boozer) in Dumfries and Galloway. I've done New Galloway and Castle Douglas recently, I'm looking for a change.
Thanks in advance

Camping

Kippford is nice area couple of pubs n nice for walks... Dalbeattie as camp site which is very basic got a few pubs kings arms is no bad for food but ther only busy at weekends.... Both places only a few miles apart...:flag

Glen Trool?

Not the big one full of plebs in wobbblyboxes/pikey vans and with screaming kids - the small one back up the road a bit.

Can't be more specific as it was about 12 years since we were there, but I liked the site - small and basic.

(edit: there was apub within staggering distance)

Palnackie as nice wee site , glen isle pub in village very friendly ...

There's a bar of sorts at the wooden lodge place at Sandyhills, and there's a campsite there, or was last time I stayed at Barend.

Lovely part of the world, my mother's family came from Dalbeattie and I spent many a holiday there as a kid.

Brighouse Bay, - on-site shop, great shower and laundry blocks, clubhouse boozer for meals and drinks, indoor pool too.
