Can ACF50 be sprayed ?

I've been trying to find a sprayer that will mist spray ACF50. So far all I can get is a jet which is no good for the smaller components.

Has anyone found such a method or is the best way to brush it on with say a small artist paint brush?

Garden centre mist sprayer or the one supplied with the 950ml bottles off ebay..
But I agree I've done my wheels with a paint brush..
I use a micro fibre cloth to soak up any drips & as the rag gets damp I use it to go over the frame or plastic parts.. Keep it off the brakes or hand grips..

I initially thought exactly as the OP, but I tried immersing the can in a bucket of WARM / HOT ish water for a few minutes . The spray then comes out as a very fine spray, much better.

I have access to an air compressor at work so I got a cheap spray gun and use that.

I tried using a pump-up garden sprayer, but mainly got drips and splatters. I then invested in a paint sprayer (this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-PFS-W...&qid=1414591498&sr=8-1&keywords=bosch+sprayer) and it doesn't a superb job. I told the wife I was getting the sprayer to do the shed!

Once I've used the sprayer, with sheets wrapped around the wheels to stop overspray, I then go over all the fasteners with a small paint brush. Finally, I use a soaked rag to wipe metal surfaces like forks.

Very therapeutic.

I do seem to miss one fastener though per winter.

I use a £25 'hobby' air gun from Halfords. Mists well & can b targeted. I filter the acf50 through muslin first to avoid clogging.

i complain to bmw that they should not rust away , like a fiat car from the 70s, and the more people that do, then maybe one day in the future our bike will rust free like most modern cars.

This still amazes and annoys me with every new bike i get. Now at a more mature stage in life even more so. I have been able to buy more expensive, 'better quality' machines and still parts corrode in the first winter. I use ACF every year and its still not total protection, compared to my cars which receive no TLC at all and seem to remain rust free for many years.

I am confused by this, Ive just purchased my first ever can of ACF50 spray and it is very easily sprayable and in fact is positively very runny and not what I was expecting. I expected something like Waxoyl. Its so runny, that i fear that it'll end up all over the discs and tyres if I apply it to the wheels. Purchased from Amazon. Do you apply it to wheels and spokes ? Have I purchased the wrong stuff?

It does tend to 'creep' and get everywhere, but it's worth it. I tend to apply to an old toothbrush and just do the wheelhubs and let centrifugal force do the rest. For the rest of the bike I usually empty the tin into a plastic spraybottle and use that. Goes further that way. Paint brush is good too.

Take the bodywork off a seven year old car and see what it looks like.
The exhaust, brake calipers, suspension struts and engine block are all happily corroding away you just don't see it behind that sheet metal.

Spray some into the can top and apply on the wheels and spokes using a brush ..... when doing the rest of the bike cover the wheels and discs with some old sheets to avoid overspray. Also stick the tin in hot water before use as it mists the spray a lot better.

Mine is getting its annual pre winter wash and spray this weekend all going to plan
