I originally had Version 7 City Navigator - Europe on my work laptop. I later added Version 8 and have had an e-mail from Garmin to say that Version 9 (update disk - not the stand alone DVD) is on its way to me. So far so good, but I suddenly realised that I'm downloading all this info from CDs and DVDs but I'm not deleting anything, so I assume that all this data is slowly but surely clogging up my laptop. Computer speed hasn't become an issue - yet, but I would prefer to delete data that it out of date as I replace it with current data, rather than waiting for things to go wrong. Am I being paranoid?
I assume that as V9 is an update disk (rather than a complete stand alone version) that it will only work if the previous versions are still on the computer - otherwise there is nothing to update IYKWIM.
I remember a few months ago someone on here posted how you could easily check which programmes etc were on your computer, how much memory each one was taking up etc etc (of course I can't find it now) but it also gave an easy way to delete unwanted programmes like some of the kids games etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
