Can I use other apps on the CRN device?

Hello CRN users - can you help me with a simple question?

I’ve like to be able to use Apps like Waze, Scenic, IGNrando, OS Maps. Is it possible to load and use these on the CRN, or via Apple Carplay, or is it entirely tied into the BMW Operating System?
