Can we set tripmeter to read in miles or km?

Currently my 07 1200 GSA reads in miles on odometer and tripmeter but I wonder if we can convert to km anytime we want to especially if we travel abroad?

You can select miles or km on a Vespa GTS 250 by holding down a tripmeter button before you switch ignition on then press to select miles or km! I can't see why BMW can't make it possible for GS owners.

When abroad I set KM/KMH on my sat nav .Of course I realise this would not be much help if ya do not have a sat nav.

Inexplicably you have to ask your dealer to do it ... it's rubbish but there you are.

I was thinking about having BMW Assist meet me when I ride off Le Shuttle in Calais and have them set it to kms ... then they could meet me at Folkstone on my return ...



But I do think it's daft. I set the sat nav too ...
