Having seen that according to my dash, my battery only tests at 12.1v (lights and dash on and canbus active but engine off). Starting has been sluggish despite keeping on maintenance charge, so I replaced the battery a few days ago for another YTB7-BS AGM (6.8AH, 110 CCA). No change! I tested battery with ignition off by inserting test probes into sae direct to battery and it showed a healthy 13V at the terminals. Load tester shows and equally healthy 144CCA, way above rating, so battery is fine. There's no alarm fitted but I was shocked with how much juice that the canbus system and lights consume. Anyone else have similar?

The CAN bus has nothing to do with electrical consumption.
Interesting to know. It was a tech who told me it does affect consumption but I thought it was just a coms control system allowing the ECU to communicate with the electrical systems. Consumption is caused by parasitic drain from things like the dash memory requiring a constant but small current but it has to be quite small and doesn't account for the dash reading of battery state. Just strange that direct to terminal registers over 13V but dash registers 12v (engine off).
