Hi,

after getting back from my recent Alps trip and sorting through photos and vids I saved all to my comp except for one vid. This particular vid slipped through the net and in turn, and after thinking I had saved everything, I erased all files on the SD card.
I have since managed to claw back all the deleted files from SD but all the vids now refuse to play through any software.

WMP comes up with 'Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file'.

The Gopro vids usually open or are saved as Quick Time Player vids but won't open in here either but instead show Codec Error 2048.

Initially all these vids would play but since retrievable and paying £26.00 for a CardRecovery (download) all it has done is retrieve the lost files.

VLC also won't play them. In VLC when clicking 'Play' a time bar shows a play in progress but no footage.

In a temporary notepad folder within the saved files of CardRecovery it has the following:-

About This TmpFiles Folder

This folder is used by CardRecovery to store temporary files
on scanning your memory card.
Files in this TMPFiles folder all have a ".~CR" extension name
which are encoded/compressed and cannot be used or open directly.
Once the whole recovery completes, the final recovered files
would be saved to the upper level folder instead of this folder.

You may remove the TMPFiles folder and ".~CR" files safely to release the space they take
in case you uninstall CardRecovery or do not need the temporary files.

CardRecovery performs read-only operation on your source memory card, so unless you have re-used
your memory card (took new pictures on the same memory card), or the memory card is in unstable state,
you may still use CardRecovery to recover the pictures from the memory card once again.

If you are a registered (purchased) user of CardRecovery, and want to
use the temporary files for some reasons,
you may contact CardRecovery support at http://www.cardrecovery.com/support/ for decode tool.

I understand the removal of the folder suggestion but removing the CR Files? There are no separate files, just the TMP Folder and the recovered files.

Any ideas/solutions please in numptyproof language 'cos I'm lost with this and currently £26.00 down with little to show for it? :nenau
