Cant copy/ relocate files over 4gb

anybody think of a reason why i cant copy any files over 4gb in size from my hard drive on the desktop to an external hard drive?

am trying to move my films ISO backups onto external to free up some space, it works for anything under 4gb but not above

If you are using Windows 2000 or XP, you need to format the external drive using NTFS format. There is a 4GB file limit for FAT32 (which is probably the format it was shipped with).

WARNING: If your PC uses Windows 98, DO NOT reformat to NTFS as it will not be recognised by Windows.

The best thing to do is to read the instructions that came with the disk or go to the support pages of the manufacturer's website.
