Help !!
I've just noticed that I can't save jpgs from IE6. If I left click and save as.. it only gives me the option of saving as a bmp, and it doesn't seem to detect the name of the jpg. I can save gifs OK. I can email jpgs to myself.
I've installed latest windows updates, and uninstalled latest IE6 update with no effect.
I've uninstalled my popup stopper, and my download manager - no effect.

Any ideas:confused:

Re: Can't Save Jpgs In IE6

I have only ever experienced this if the origional image you are trying to save is of BMP format, if you right click and check the properties of the image you should be able to tell what it is. Bet it is a Bitmap if it wants to save as a BMP.

Only way to do it is to save as a Bitmap then use any graphic application / viewer to view and resave the image as a JPG.

Hope this helps ya

Mycroft, (holmes ?)
it does it for jpgs too, I know cos I tried it on my own webpage piccies.
Thanks anyway.

I also had this "only save as *.bmp" anomaly last couple of weeks. It was getting me a real tense nervous headache. There's a work around if you can be fagged. > > Go > File > Send Page > as if to E-mail the page to somebody. When your E-mail client pops up with the page displayed ready for sending then you can save from that page, no probs.

Even this is too much hassle, frankly. I guess some spyware, oscillating with spyware removal customisation by Ad-aware etc has corrupted my IE6 registry entries in some exotic way. I've now given the whole lot the boot and defected to Mozilla Firefox 0.9 as my default web browser. End of problem.....and a whole lot of other problems with IE6 too!

Sorry guys, I just trawled the web and found the answer !!!
You have to empty your temporary internet file cache.
Is mozilla any good, B?

Anything is better than Micro$oft... a firefox 0.9 is the best. Faster and more friendly.
