Just incase you wondered how capable the S-10 is, I have just returned from a 4000 mile return trip to Malta and back ! The S-10 didn't falter and except for filling up too often ( still frugal at 6 litres per 100 km - I'm metricated ) . Its a highly capable machine and the biggest issue I had was my helmet and the wind noise. Of course, in my opinion, I think the screen is rubbish also and poorly designed; but otherwise, reliability second to none.

I'd post pics but my sub has expired

Is it not fairly common for bikes not to break-down between 4,000 mile intervals?

Try a Givi AirFlow sceen. Home to Greece and back without having to lower my visor, except for half an hour in the rain.

I have a MRA X-creen sport to fit sometime. That's not the issue I was getting at really. I was merely stating that a bike this good should have all the ergonomics and aerodynamics already sorted, but, I feel the japs miss the value of this compared to the BM camp. Never mind - horses for courses as they say.

I just thought I'd add to this not to wind anyone up and only based on a few hundred miles on my new bike, I think the bike is so under rated and for me at 5'9" the screen isn't bad either.
My last bike an F800GS (14000 miles ) everyone complained about the screen, the previous bike a Multistrada 1200 touring ( 20000 miles ) again screen issues.
Before that a KTM 990 adventure ( 50000 miles ) guess what? A GS1100, GSA1150 and a GS1200 ( total 80000 miles ) all appear on forums with screen questions.
I guess they can all be better but we are all different shapes too, I know my aerodynamics could be better.
Enjoy your Super Tenere's , I am.

Que?

The screen on my R1150GS was awful. Mr Tobinator made a packet selling his adjusters.

In contrast, I find the S10 to be lovely. The Yamaha designers, have made a decent stab at producing a decent screen and upper fairing. Of course, being of Japanese proportions like Micky, may be a significant factor.

I think so, at over 6 foot most screens seem totally useless to me, the GS one was crap, as is the S10, and as were all the screens on all the other bikes I have owned over the last 20 years, on sportsbikes I can forgive them as they need to make it useless to get an extra 2mph on the MCN speed test.

LOL Rasher ! Hilarious.

I'm spending the next few weeks solely tweeking my " screen aerodynamics " with the MRA X-Screen and till I save enough for the ECU flash and Arrow header mod, will be the pen-ultimate mod for a very comfortable ride for my style. A Braun helmet cam will come last to capture another epic trip in 2014 !

Ive a standard MRA screen, its perfect. When I added the winglets it made it even better.
