Cape Town to London

I am new to the site. I have recently completed a journey on my R1200GS from London to Cape Town in 55 days, 13500km of pure joy. I live in Cape Town, so my UK registered bike have to either find an Adventurer to ride it back to the UK or I have to send it back...

If anyone are interested to ride it back, that will be ideal.

Why does a UK registered bike have to be sent or ridden back to the UK.
Is there no facility to get it registered in SA and keep it?

I would hazard a guess, and say it's got something to do with steep import duties, being an ex-Capetonian myself .

just finished reading your blog end to end and thoroughly enjoyed it. Reinforced a desire to see Ethiopia, although the stories of the stone-throwing were not encouraging.

What a great trip - I'm very jealous and wish I could bring your bike back to the UK for you. Hope you find a lucky person soon.
