Well it looks like I might have to make my own way to Cardiff tomorrow as the nutter who volunteered to drive wants to leave here at 5AM :yikes for a 3PM kick-off.

What's the inside knowledge on taking a bike here (other than don't do it). I know there's a park n ride for cars but might I get close enough to walk or anyone know of secure parking that might work?

Any advice or else I might as well not bother going to bed tonight :(

Cardiff Parking

Park at the back of Andys, Hein Gericke Cardiff and lock the bike. Security camera at rear of store.
Short walk to Stadium.

cheers

Gerry

Tip - as you approach junction 25A (the one after 26!) keep to the middle or outside lane so that you stay on the M4 and are not taken on a 6 mile detour to get to the other end of the tunnels. If you stay on the M4 it's about 0.5 mile.

What about parking in the Cardiff Hein Gericke car park, plenty of places to chain up your bike and within easy walking distance of the MS.

Don't go on the bike Andy. On the way back it will be hard to see properly with tears in your eyes.

.COME ON YOU IRONS

BMW dealer, Rydales is even closer. They have free coffee & doughnuts.

If making for Hein Gericke (as GH suggests) or Rydales plan your route to avoid the River Taff bridges either end of the Millenium Stadium as they will be closed to traffic.

Best route in is down the A48 from J29 of the M4. Stay on the A48 ignoring all the city centre signs. Pass Tesco and take the next left turn onto A4119 Cardiff Road. Left into Pen Hill Road, Cathedral Road (still A4119) which will bring you close to both suggestions.

Just back in from 'the Bay Area' :D Left Beckenham at 0630 this morning, got in here 0030, no voice again, knackered again - but happy? TOO FEKKIN RIGHT I AM!!

As a spectacle the match was terrible but when there's £25m riding on it then you're not likely to have the most exciting of matches.

In the end we went loaded up in a people carrier and were in Cardiff at 10.30 where we left our vehicle in the palatial surroundings of Parc Ninian :yikes :barf

Went past the pub of the same name in our colours but sadly it was too early for a friendly pint, I guess the regualrs hadn't been let out of Heddlu HQ from the night before.

The Millenium Stadium is a corker, well located to enable festivities in the castle 'moat' and to take our pick of the city centre establishments for lunch and the organisation is excellent.

Even the toilets are cunningly designed so you queue to get in and out but whilst in there you have plenty of space for the purposes for which you went in.

So why oh why was the day nearly spoilt by having to take 2 hours to get from Ninian Park to the Newport Tunnel?

Oh and for Lolgeoff, you can stick your bubble blowing up your sorry 1st division arse your team were shite :upyou
