I've read a few threads but I haven't got my answer so need some help if possible please. My problem is with the fitment of the cast front wheel.
I've fitted 5 spoke cast RT wheels to my 2002 R1150GS (single spark). I've been running a 17" spoked front for a while using a GS hub and a Megamoto rim so I have the correct speedo etc.
I've had the cast wheels powdercoated black and bought from Motorworks new bearings, internal spacer, speedo dog drive and seal. I've swapped the discs over and fitted a pressed steel ABS ring.
When I assemble the wheel it all goes together well until I tighten the axle bolt and it pulls the wheel over to the left of the bike and locks it up. When I release the axle bolt the wheel centralises (you can see an equal gap between the disc bolts and the fork legs) and it all spins nicely. There seems to be a 1.5-2mm gap on the axle between the speedo housing and the inside of the fork leg. I suppose I could space it out with a washer but nobody else seems to get this problem? I thought maybe I needed the RT axle but again it appears that the original GS axle is the one to use.
Am I missing something? Has anybody else experienced this?
Thanks
