Morning all, I have 2018 GSA Rallye. I’ll be using it over the winter to get to work in Aberdeen. The weather can turn a bit nasty up there and I would like to fit some tyres that will be able to handle a bit of snow on the roads. I’m not talking alpine conditions but the thin layers you see between the passes of the plough. The current crop of road bias tyres I don’t think will hack it. I thought of Conti TKC or Metz Karoo but not sure as I’ve never used them. Does anyone have any suggestions. I’d also like to fit cast wheels for the winter which would have the winter tyres on. Is it possible to fit cast wheels to the GSA, If so, which year is best or, will any fit?
Thanks in advance.

Wheel sizes are the same for GS & GSA. I took the spoke wheels off my last GSA and replaced with cast, no problems as long as they are from an LC.

Heidenau K60 Scouts, they have a M & S rating ,sure they now do them in GS LC sizes

Warlord will be along shortly to post some pictures of his tarts handbag. :augie :D

Found these on The Bay. Looked at the Anlas website and it seems a German mag has tested them with good results.

Had four sets of these, great tyres that cope with cutting through some mud and snow, but can be a bit noisy when moving it along but only what you would expect from the slightly blocky tread pattern.

Never tried them but have heard good things about them

The Anlas aren’t cheap but if they work as described then they may be worth it. I’ll get looking for some cast wheels and look for the tyres around autumn.

Not forget GS911 or motoscan to put pressure sensors.

black powder coated cast wheels with Conti RoadAttack3. Very good combination for the cold season ...

avon trailriders are marked m&s also.
more road focused which should be better for what your doing with them

Found this looking through old pictures. I think it looks great with cast wheels.

Actually you can get around it without one.

Swap just ONE of the wheels and go for a short ride and the bike detects the new sensor (mine took about 3 miles).
Then swap the OTHER wheel and repeat the short ride to detect the 2nd new sensor.
The bike "sees" that there is a new sensor and pairs with it automatically, but only if you do one at a time.

Personally I found the Heidenau tyres terrible in every condition. I’ve been using Motoz Tractionator Adventure or Rallz tyres the past 3 years and they’re amazing. I’ll be putting them on the new GSA
