Anybody tried removing the cat from a 12, would it make any difference if you did? Whilst fitting a Remus end can all i could make out was a centre pin(about 5 or 6mm dia) with wadding round it. Did'nt look all that scientific to me. Should'nt be all that difficult to take out.
Like i said, would it worth it? bearing in mind the Remus can.

Too tight to buy Remus headers see

Others (see various threads) have used the Cat without the silencer (with a pipe to stop the rain getting in) - the view is that the CAT provides some 'silencing'.

I believe that CATS are quite 'restrictive' and therefore the preformance will be better if removed. The negative side is that 'back pressure' is important - too little (I think) and you'll destroy the 'mid range' - having said that, the Remus (and other) systems use the same end can with their headers and 'Y' piece.

I have Remus headers and 'Y' piece with a Remus Genesis can, and it has made a marked difference to the power delivery (for the better).

The only problem with removing the CAT from the stock headers/'Y' piece is that you can't go back!

I'm guessing that you will get a large number of 'opinions'
