I am taking a group of 6 or 7 down to the Moto GP in Barcelona at the end of June. Crossing to Santander, two days across Spain and then back up through France. I have two questions please; does anyone know the best viewing/grandstand position at Catalunya? Secondly, from looking on the web it looks like you can only buy a three day ticket (we will only be there on race day). Although they are much cheaper than the UK does anyone know if you can just buy a one day ticket?

Any information at all gratefully received

Thanks

Chris

Blimey Chris, I was about to post the same question... Plus a question about public transport from Barca to the track.

Hi Chris,
Not sure about purchasing tickets for one day only, we went for the three days last year and had a fantastic time. Decided not to get grandstand seats, there are plenty of places to sit in the shade around the circuit and still have a great view. We bought our tickets from the circuit website, easy to do, then collected them at the entrance (you need to present the credit card you made the booking with even if out of date, to get your tickets) The pit lane walkabout was good, even though we could'nt get anywhere near Rossi !!
Hope you see as good a race as we did.
Chris.

Ime also going to Catalunya for the GP, does anyone know if there is camping at the circuit?

@Nightrider, For me, the best situation to view the race is B, G, C ,H tribune. In spanish, we call "El estadio" (stadium). Seeting on this area, you can see several corners as it's totally flat. You can only buy a three days ticket.

@Ricardo, You can travel from "estacion de sants" to "montmelo" by train. The train station at montmelo it's 20 min walking away from "Tribuna A"

@Ferret, There is no oficial camping at the circuit, but i've seen people sleeping on the parking.

@everyone, Be carefull with the sun!! my oncle (from wimbledon) stills remembers when we went to F1 on 98!! :D

Thanks for that Revin, can you recommend a campsite nearby?

sorry for the delay. I've been outside my country

I've seen on the circuit's website that they have enabled a camping area. It's on the north area.

What he said - been twice it's an awesome atmosphere in the stadium section. If you just go on race day be prepared to move someone out of your seats the locals think possession is 9 tenths. Just be polite and firm and make sure you've got the right section.

The train from Sants is very easy and the walk to the track from the station is entertaining

Take a flag or something to cover your legs - it's kin hot sat there :rob
