Caveman Pannier Frame Quick Question

The metal bar that fixes behind the number plate on Caveman's SW Motech pannier frames to the 1200GS doesn't appear to be load bearing...Therefore, is it OK to use the hard plastic screws that attach the registration plate to the bike to secure this? Thanks T

I don't think it's load bearing until you drop the bike onto a pannier, then it might take a little strain. Use proper bolts
