Good for you John, I picked up one last week and I am pleased with it. As Grim points out it will only get heavier with the RR kit fitted but not as heavy as a Beemer...!! Enjoy.

Thanks, trying not to look too much at their kit! Not an off-road god, so no need for the golden wheels etc, which means money for other "essentials"

Rally raid kit makes the bike...Suspension is shite standard unless you want to stay on the road

Morocco hey did that a couple of years ago on KLE500's with a mate
Not your first choice you would think but they proved to be bullet proof ..Unlike the KTM
I would not hesitate to take the Honda

Spotted one of these in Oxted the other day with high-level Scorpion exhaust etc. Not sure if it had the full RRP upgrades but it looked very nice. Any other Tossers gone down the 500x route? Opinions? Could be tempted myself once I get my life sorted out

The 500X from 2016 onwards had a design change around the foot-peg sub-frame which means they won't take the high-level exhaust as seen on older RR bikes. For river crossings that would be a no-no. But if you're not doing river crossings it ain't a problem I guess

The one I saw is on a 67 plate and definitely had high level exhaust - RRP also sell the Scorpion exhaust so maybe the design has been changed for later bikes? A more significant issue with the high level exhaust is that the RRP soft luggage carriers can’t be fitted.
