Overall a great day out as for the CCM i am pleased with how it performed....With the DR650 Suzi motor it was nice and smooth on the road...So the 50 mile back road ride home was enjoyable and fun...
Off road it's no pogo but still well capable and not too heavy...
As long as it stays together i think it's a good choice :augie
Sill time will tell

Cheers Pete was a great first run :beerjug:

Cheers Bob :thumb2
By the way i am off down the Pyrenees trail rideing for a couple of weeks start of september...
Will be doing a reccie for a trip i may organise next year if you interested...I know you were talking about going down there

How does these CCMs perform on the road on a good run and whats their electrics like ??? Love the look of them and the DR650 is a popular choice in USA so would like to know more:thumb2

my "tractor"

when it was only a couple of weeks old...

yep bought it new in 02..... thrashed it within an inch of its life for 3 years

got it stuck in bogs, lobbed it up and down embankments, even came off a berm with a big drop and got it stuck halfway up a tree:D

what a cracking bike:thumb its an "enthusiasts machine" insomuch that it will do its best to destroy itself but you will have a hoot keeping it all nailed together

mine was a proper one with the rotax engine:D

ask Andres and a few others on here.... all ex ccm owners:thumb

hm

I have had CCM's a few years ago with the Rotax lump...
thers nothing wrong with the power or the reliability of it
But the DR motor seems just as powerful and it's in another class for smoothness and refinement...
Therefore it's great on the road :thumb
As for the electrics i have heard they can be troublesome...Time will tell
But they are simple and i have no worries about sorting them out myself
