Looking at pics in the GS Mods thread of centre stands.
The TT one appears to raise the rear wheel and what looks like the Wunderlich one is raising the front wheel.

Will the bike pivot on either of these - i.e. we'll say that I have the TT one - could you push down the rear and tie it off to the centre stand to raise the front wheel.

I've never used a centre stand - don't know how much force it would take to collapse it - that's why I'm asking the question. Which stand balances the bike better to even attempt somthing like this.

Have you anything constructive to add Spout - how do you raise either wheel on the Dakar to change punctures when your out on the road?

I had the TT centre stand on my 650 Dakar.

Which wheel touched the ground depended on how much luggage was carried.

No luggage and the rear wheel was off the ground.

Remove the front wheel and it would be enough to gentle rock onto the back wheel.

You should be alright taking either wheel off, depending which centrestand you have.
I had a modified (lengthened) standard 650 stand - no problems, but needed a weight on back end to initially raise front wheel.
Don't take both wheels off together:

Mine (TT) raises the rear wheel. It's impossible to get up on the center stand when the luggage is loaded, I'm not that strong.
