need to go to 13t front what rear would you recommend and any particular make?

I run standard rear 54 i think of the top of my head, makes a huge difference:thumb

standard rear is 47.
I like a steel rear sprocket; a bit heavier but they last for ages unlike aluminium. I use a 49 which lowers the gearing a bit.

I would also recommend sticking to a genuine bmw/rotax front sprocket. Many aftermarket sprockets seem to be a slightly looser fit on the output shaft allowing the sprocket the rock backwards and forwards which will eventually destroy the splines on the shaft. No idea whether the Talon sprockets have this issue but the cost difference is minimal compared to the cost of stripping the engine to replace the shaft.

dirt tricks / ironman 47 tooth, lightest steel one you can get, lasts ages, looks fantastic, walter has over 20,000km on his but costs about £100, you can now get them from adventure spec rather than direct from the states which is what i did

thanks for your thoughts 13/51 seems to be where i want to go lots of places in the states to buy but where in the UK?

Stephan Scheffelmeier, mentioned here as a supplier of great products.
nothing there for you?
chain etc
I bought a RK kit, plus other items of his, and found the prices and services fair.

Demon Tweeks, speak to Neil Riddle as he has supplied AFAM rear sprockets to me.
Again, fronts are cheap enough from Talon Engineering.

Thanks ordered 13/49 from stefan

Steel sprockets - Talon Eng

Just ordered up the following from Talon.

15 tooth front, steel, £8.95 plus vat
49 tooth rear, steel, £25.47 plus vat (they also have the OE 47 tooth avail in steel)

Basically, I wanted steel on both and was struggling to find steel rears.

Contact Numbers for Talon are
01935 471508, option 1, option 2

I'll call you shortly as couldn't stop yesterday. You've got a 14% reduction in gearing on the front and 4% or so on the rear which equates to a >18% change on an already torquey engine.

Good on slow stuff but wheelspins and wheelies by any chance :D
