I am not ofey with the area, there are six of use coming down from Scarborough North Yorkshire on friday 24th May and stopping 2 nights in the Powys area

All ideas will be greatfully received.

This is the location of the double jammer cream scone. Simple concept but excellence in execution.
Now to get to it requires a ride around:

And there are some interesting roads around that area. Just meander. Devil's Staircase leads into a great little valley with a single track hanging on the side. Over the top and there's even more to play with.

Lots of red kites in the area..

Then as a reward, the double jammer. I've always eaten it before I remember to take a shot.

julio,
you really must do the B4521, it's one of my top ten roads. It comes off the A49 near Peterstow, Ross-on-Wye and gives you 20 miles of ups and downs and turns, crosses the border into Wales at Skenfrith and runs down into Abergavenny.
There you can pick up the A40 westwards via Brecon to Llandovery, have a cuppa at the West End cafe and turn right up the A483, a cracking road itself usually only lightly trafficked, to Beulah.
Turn left there onto the B4358 and you've gone to heaven: it's a bit like the 4521 only much more intense with some tight turns and some terrifying plunging drops. Take this manic switchback to its end at Newbridge-on-Wye and when you get there the world, as Arthur Daley would say, is yer lobster. From Newbridge you have easy access to Rhayader, The Devil's Staircase, Abergwesyn Common, Elan Valley etc.
Come on over and enjoy your ride!
