I'm thinking of ditching the standard exhaust in my new 1150 GS for something that I can hear, ie Remus, with 'Y' piece.
Three questions:
1. Do I have to get the ECU black box thingy re-programmed?
2. Will it affect my BMW warranty?
3. Will it pass an MOT with a Remus can on?

These have probably been asked loads of times before, so I apologise for repeating them.

Cheers

remus can y piece

hi mate.ive got the y piece with the remus alloy road can,you shuold have no probs with mot with that conversion.i fitted it when the bike was 12mts old and had.had a warranty claim later on the lambada sensor and was no probs with bmw.

this is covvered almost every week on the BB new memebers always asking the same old thing - dose nobody think of doeing a search on remus or y peice to get the ansers

1.no you dont . just remove your catcode plug and reset the mottronic by pulling fuse5 replce it and oppen the throttle twice fully with th ingnition on
2.probably not
3. Yes if its streetlegel (obvious)

David you missed one!

4. Will I be insured with a Remus can on?

A. Only if it is ce marked ie. road leagal. If it is a race can you could be riding without insurance!!

Y piece and end can

David, just do it, best mod ever. See the thread ' convince me to fit a Y piece etc. Pages of do's and don'ts. If you want specific advice I have a 'Janet & John' step by step how to do it with some useful tips on some niggles you may come up against, nothing insurmountable. Bike sounds fantastic, pulls like a train, sheds a ton of obese cat' and looks dead neat. The Remus system is well thought out and there is no need to bodge or bend anything. Fits a dream.

decibels yes, offensive no , almost ducatiesque when given second grip .

Cheers David:beerjug:
