Change your alternator belt in time!

Doh!

My RT's alternator belt came close to that a few weeks ago. Just a couple of strands were holding it together.

40k is safe, I think. :aidan
It's said in the maintenance schedule
BTW, You can buy those belts in any car part store. It is a 4PK611 belt. 4PK615 suits as well.

Just had mine changed as part of a service. It had been in there for about 30,000 miles afaik; it was fraying slightly, but wasn't too bad. I'll get it done every 24,000 or so from now on.

I thought the service manual said to change the belt at 36k??? Back when I had my 1150 I remember a few people posting of failures just before it was due, so the advice was to change at 24k, which I did, and never had any problems. The first belt I removed was in good nick so went into my top box as a spare. The second belt was in need of a change as it was fraying down one edge.
