I want to change the coolant in the 650gs 'single' 2001

Should I be buying pre-mixed coolant or can I use the normal stuff and mix it myself. Cos I've got shed loads of it in the garage I don't want to be spending out unnecessarily.

Also has anyone got any tips on refilling the system? IE run for a while and then bleed, or bleed whilst filling etc.

Cheers Val.

i used premix but any 50:50 mix should be OK as long as its Non Nitrite and Non Silicate, something to do with the water pump I believe.

only thing i had to do was squeeze the coolant pipes to bleed the system

there's a whole page of info here :thumb2

Thanks for that :thumb2 I did look at this on the 650.com Fqa's but I must have clicked the link to the 'classic 650's' so missed the GS bit.

remember to open the air screw on the RHS of the bike- very slow fill to avoid air locks etc
