I have just got hold of a 400 with the bike wiring mount kit. Now my old quest i powered from a switched supply piggy backing of a supply to a dash light, fine no problems.

My question is this, if i wire it straight to the battery (as instructed) will it continue to draw from the battery when the engine is off to charge the internal battery, im guessing yes. This is obviously not good.

How has everyone else wired there's up? he last thing i want is a flat battery. The quest was ace as it stayed on just drew from its own battery when the bike was off, then jumped onto charge or bike power when it the bike was running.

I was under the impression that all Zumos had an internal battery albeit only good for 4 hours rather than the claimed 20 hours for the Quest. I would be inclined to wire it, in the same fashion, to a switched feed rather than direct to the battery.

With exposed contacts wired direct to the battery you risk electrolytic corrosion on the cradle contacts otherwise.

Better to flatten the GPS battery, than the bikes.
