Is there such a thing? Spending a couple weeks going around europe this year and would like some sort of comm between the gf and myself. Ideally id like the autocom 200 set but this trip is going to be on a tight budget so really need something cheaper if it exists?

Doesnt matter if it runs off battery etc just dont want something that will be un-useable over 30mph and whistles with the wind all the time (spend £7 on a set from lidl....yep utter crap lol)

Would be ideal if it was voice activated but appreciate this is prob why the autocom is £100

Cheers chaps

Dave

Spend the £100. The Autocom 200 was a Ride Mag Best Buy at £200. so a bit of a bragain at £100. You get what you pay for with the cheaper stuff.

As the man says, get something proper :thumb2

I suspect many of us have tried and binned all sorts of kit- it just isn't worth it in my experience....vacuum pipes, cheap mikes and battery packs etc? bin'em, the're all pants....get something decent to start off with and you'll avoid all of that frustration and have a much better time.

We had one originally which was something like 25GBP and to be honest the constant open mike was not a major issue, but the ear pieces were agony after just 30 minutes. If you are planning a long trip don't mess about with these things you will probably end up throwing it in the Channel on the way over. That being said, whatever you get, make sure you take it for a decent run before you leave. The autocom does need some tweaking to get the voice activation settings right as well as the speaker positions in your helmet.
