Cheap Ass oil cooler grille

Take one bit of scrap aluminium, I think it might be part of a tumble drier or something

Chop a bit off about 9" x 4" and smooth the edges with a file. Paint it black and bake on gas mark 4 for 45 minutes.

Tie on with cable ties, and bidgy bodgy, job's a good un, one oil cooller protector.

I think I should be selling these on ebay for a tenner each Cable ties included!

I was thinking that with all the oil cooler protectors. They all seem to have only 50% perforation at best, which can't do much good.

Probably - if it used to dry clothes.

And your oil ends up smelling nice

They are only fashion items in the UK anyway

I've been carefully monitoring the temperature gauge since fitting the grille - it's reading just under half, same as it always has. So I don't think there's a problem there.

Most are fashion accessories, this one's for real - I fitted it so I don't get mud and stones fired into the oil cooler when I'm out green laning it next weekend. I'm expecting to be at the back

Nice job. I experimented with something similar using some mesh that chav's use that you can get in halfords etc. Being a bit picky I scrapped my homemade idea and bought a Reyno one.

TBH the latter is very nicely made and therefore not too cheap but Im certain theres a cheaper, simpler solution. As shown here
