I used to have a Zen Micro 5Gb mp3 player which I put in a HG tuareg handlebar bag and played through my Autocom. Unfortunately the zen is 'donald ducked' and I found that I missed the music. As it could have been the vibes on the bike that frizzed the zen I didn't want a repeat performance.
So I started to look for a cheap option and found this:

Super cheap 8 hours+ of music and the sound quality is pretty good (certainly good enough through the autocom in the helmet). Volume is adequate up to 80-ish (with ear plugs).
All I have done is loaded it with 400 of my favorites. I start it playing on random at the begining of any trip and it lasts for about 8 hours before I have to change the battery (1 AAA which you can get at any garage). I used to get fed up when the zens battery was flat as I couldn't charge or power it on the go.
Although this probably doesn't hold enough for a week away, at this price you could always buy a couple.
Its solid state (vibes won't hurt it) and cheap enough not to worry if it gets knackered or nicked.
I just thought I'd pass this on as an idea for others.

PS. I have just noticed this:

twice the size and only £20 more ( I cant vouch for the quality though)
