After recieving great help over my PC i thought i would ask for advice on the above.
I am just going to use it for a internet connection but all photo's , Music etc etc will be stored on my home PC
So not a great deal of space is needed and quickness is not a priority (within reason).
So cheap but reliable that will get bashed about a bit....If you see what i mean.
Any reccommendations...:)

Dell has some good offers at the moment - look for the inspiron 6400

Check out local computer fairs. I got my wife a quite reasonable Dell for £120 with a three month warranty. Her boss was impressed so I got two more for him and his son.

They have all proved reliable and are fast enough to run XP Pro and latest software without problems. The main thing lost compared with new is no dvd burner (just cd) and a smallish drive (but as I have just upgraded my Compaq with a 100Gbyte drive which cost £35 it's not really an issue). No wi-fi but a £10 pcmcia wi-fi card solved that problem.
