Chigee AIO 5 for BMW v Carpuride 702BS

Another difference is that you can power the Chigee from the USB C port underneath using a cable. The Carpuride cannot be powered except on the bike. I found it useful to power the Chigee this way to learn the menus and operation of the unit etc. in the comfort of my own home and not in my cold, damp garage.
My Carpuride came with a USB cable.
 
What is the advantage of using one of these units over a normal satnav etc.

Is the satnav more convenient to use than sa the Nav VI or the connected ride.
 
One end screws to the flying lead of the unit. Other end is normal USB male... unless you didn't get one :D
The unit appears to only be powered from the pins on the rear that fits into the sat nav prep. I have seen videos of previous models that have a lead but this unit has no external ports to allow that or a fixed lead to connect to the nav prep. It only came two weeks ago.

Ah... the BMW version.
Does it not have a very short lead in a channel at the back?
Mine is the std version so groping in the dark....

For me, the ability to use MRA directly from my phone without having to download routes to a sat nav or in the case of the ConnectedRide Navigator, via the app. I like the MRA interface now and you can also access Google Maps etc or, God forbid, music, What's App and whatnot (This seems to be essential to a certain demographic). Offline maps sorts out data losses. My phone isn't high end but I can see the reluctance to expose an expensive phone to the weather. I am not convinced yet but I will be trying it out this year on my Euro trips. I'm sure there will be pros and cons.

I would email them and ask. They usually reply by next day.

Nope, my unit doesn't have that lead!! As you can see from the picture. There is a blanked off bit on the left but my delicate efforts to see what was under it led me to believe that it wasn't to be tampered with.

Oh, I see. Is yours the wonder wheel version?
Maybe its a limitation as you wont have the "wheel" off the bike.
Pain in the bum.

So do you link this to your phone and use Google maps or is it standalone with google maps on the system
