Hi All,

Might be interested in buying a 2003 R1150GS. It originated in France, then its owner brought it to the UK and then its current owner imported it to Ireland.

Thing is, it has chrome cylinder heads fitted: not just the heads but the head fins are chrome too. Can anyone tell me where these might've originated? Might they have been fitted standard in France or an optional extras?

Any pros (apart from being shiny) or cons with them?

Paging ...

... Whatton to the bling phone, customer waiting :thumb The covers are probably off the 1200 Cruiser and are non the worse for having a metallic protective coating, dog only knows about the barrels :nenau

could be the guy has tried to convert it to a 1200 as thats tha capacity of the cruiser:confused:

calling steptoe come in steptoe....is this possible:confused:

my dad runs one of these and it always seems odd seeing the flat twin slatherd in chrome:D it would be interesting to see a pic

As mentioned above, R1200C had chrome valve covers – the fins on the valve covers were chromed too. Not sure about the barrels though. Believe the covers are something like £300 a pair as opposed to £200 for standard covers. I’m sure they’ll be plenty of bling merchants that would be up for a swap if they’re not to your taste :thumb

Chrome...

Thanks for the replies, lads.

Actually not that i think of it its just the fins on the cover (didn't realise they had fins on) that're chromed. I suppose if i don't like em i might be able to sell em on.

As everyone says - they're the 1200C rocker covers.

Anyone want a set - had them sitting on the shelf for a while now. Much heavier than standard.
