Hello.

Could someone tell me is it possible to download City Select maps onto a Garmin 176C.

I think the problem is that City Select is designed for auto routing and won't transfer maps to units that don't support this feature.

Thing is, it's not auto routing I want, just a road map of a European country - Norway.

Maps are downloaded to the V Ok. But when I try with the 176 I get told the Maps aren't unlocked for my GPS.

I got my copy of City Select with a Garmin V and whilst that of course supports auto routing I like the big screen and datacards on my 176.

Thanks.

2nd Unlock

Boxer I had the same problem when I bought an etrex vista, you need to register your second gps and get a second unlock code for mapsource. Bit complicated but follow the instructions and it will work. You can only register 2 gps's per mapsource.

"Your MapSource coupon code is valid for use with your own GARMIN GPS unit. If you own two GARMIN GPS units, you are allowed to obtain a second unlock code for the same region at no additional charge. Simply repeat the unlock process for the second unit. This agreement provides a one-user license, and it is illegal to share this data with others. " text from Here
