Simple question... Can i connect the feed for an autocom unit to the canbus feed ontop of the battery (its a dedicated supply mainly for sat navs).

Answer... we don't know, we couldnt advise you on that......

And these guys want me to take my bike to them to be serviced......:augie

However they would charge me 50 quid to fit it (which id never pay anyway, rather do it myself its more fun)... So let me get this straight, they take 50 quid of me but don't actually know the best place or possible places to fit one... hmmm... Hooray for fully trained and knowledgeable staff....

The only BMUU approved place is to take the feed off the aux power socket.

There is a good article about taking it off the CANBUS socket though....

I'll see if I can find it......

Have a look here at the relay instructions.

I contemplated it, but then went with the approved method as it doesn't affect the warranty.

That's why I take my bike to Wollaston's in Northampton (60 miles away) when Clarks is only 15 miles away.

And thats why i now take my 1150 GSA to Pidcocks in Long Eaton they know what service means, and i only live 14 miles from Clarkes.
Topcat 107 also changed to Pidcocks after empty promises from Clarkes. We both had tyres service and bought bits of kit,£1000 plus Clarkes lost by poor service!

Yeah, went along to Pidcocks with wreck diver. Had a great day test drove 3 different bikes including the new 1300. They were really happy, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. What a difference to Clarkes! So we drove from Hereford to Derby, had a great day out got our bikes serviced and bought some goodies. Well done Clarkes, there's another load of £'s you lost out on! Ah good service, it goes a long way.

This once even better...

'hello can i speak to parts please?'

'Hi can you tell me if you have a rear tube to fit an 800GS?'

'Sorry sir we havent got one of those in stock, but we can order it for you'

So, one of the newest models, no feckin innertubes, they should be struck off!

Rant over...

The biggest problem Clark`s have is with parts. I lost an indicator yesterday after a bike/pheasant interface in which the pheasant came off second. They didn`t even stock a front offside indicator stalk for the most popular bike in Europe:eek:

The conversation went like this: "We don`t have one in stock but can order one. Can you repair the old one". My reply was "No, the indicator stalk is probably still stuck up the pheasants arse and I`m off to Spain on Tuesday but thanks for your advice" :blast

In their defence, the service department is 1st class IMHO and I`m more than happy with the way they look after my bike:thumb

Thats why I take my bike from Worcester to North Oxford Garage for all it's needs. Not at all impressed with Clarks whereas NOG always delivers good service, fair prices and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Not to mention free tea, coffee and biscuits after a nice ride over the Cotswolds. :clap:clap
