I've gone through periods of spending way too long cleaning bikes, I do enjoy it and I used to love getting the wheels off of older bikes I've had, getting all the grease and chain lube off etc but these days I can't be arsed.
With the GSA and my old Explorer I tend to do the following:
1. Set the Karcher on it's middle setting and give it a blast off (standing well back and not dwelling on any areas that might contain grease/bearings etc)
2. Spray of citrus prewash (leave for a few mins)
3. Snow foam the whole bike
4. Go over with a soft detail brush and a larger brush for most of the easy to reach areas
5. Wheel cleaner and some wheel wooly brushes to get between the spokes
6. Rinse thoroughly (again standing well back with the lance)
7. Shampoo the bike if needed or snow foam a second time and let it sit and drip off
8. Rinse again then leave to sit for 5 mins
9. Start the bike and while running use compressed air to "dry" off as much as possible and push water out of Allen head bolts and crevices etc
10. When fan kicks in and stops turn bike off
11. If possible leave to stand outside for an hour, if not stick back in shed with a dehumidifier
Sounds a lot of steps but isn't too much hassle. Always served me well, bike always looks presentable but not anally clean.
