Probably a stupid question , I know.

My oil cooler is steadily filling up with assorted dead insects. I've tried removing them with a soft paintbrush, but some stubborn ones remain wedged inside, between the fins.

Is it OK to use a jetwash to dislodge them, or are there better and safer ways?

Cheers

Fit an oil cooler guard - easy to make with a bit of wire mesh from B&Q. There are threads in the archive here on how to do this.

David,

I just use an ordinary (not high pressure) hose up close - seems to remove all the crap from the filter (through the grill of the guard)....

Mike:)
