Cleaning Rallye 2 jackets and pants

Have any of you got any good tips for cleaning nice grubby Rallye 2 gear?

Has anyone 'proofd' them after washing (i.e. with Nikwax or anything like that)? I know there is the Gore-Tex inner, but I'm sure a little outer water proofing wouldn't go amiss!

Nikwax Tech wash and proofer twin pack is the way to go. I get mine from Travel Dri-Plus as they are very nice people.

Take the armour out (sounds obvious but you'd be surprised) make sure you don't put too many things in the washing machine. So jacket and trousers is OK but don't be tempted to add other things while you are at it. Make sure you've cleaned any detergent residue out of the tray as any contamination will reduce the Nikwax process.

Don't skimp on the capfuls of Nikwax, you really do need that much!

This will get it clean but also help to keep the next lot of filth off for longer.

I presume that's the Loft Tech Wash advertised on the site?

Thought that might be a good idea, just wnated to see who else had used it! Have used it before on outdoor gear and it's been pretty good.

Just as effective and far cheaper than the Nikwax cleaner, use soap flakes such as Lux and ensure ALL detergent has been cleaned out of machine
