I've got the typical corrosion on the lower front forks and the fork brace.

I don't need them to look as new, but they are pretty crummy at the moment.

I've searched around and there are numerous ideas but what do you guys suggest just to get them looking halfway decent?

Wire Brush or wire wool; Hammerite is self priming.

On my old bike, I took the forks off, sanded the lowers with wet-and-dry, then 3 or 4 coats of Hammerite rattle can - came up a treat and lasted until I sold the bike (a good couple of years and probably 15,000 miles)

Has anyone refinished the anodised part of the sliders? Is that even possible?
