My clock kept on re-setting, so after a quick search I checked fuse 3. all looked well, visual and multi-meter both confirmed that there were no problems there. My battery is newish and turns over the engine well.
So for a month of so I just resign myself to not having a clock.
Last night did some more searches and found nothing new, so I wandered out into the garage to check again. Still looked fine until I started the bike with the fuse cover off. Guess what? Fuse number 3 sparks inside! I change the fuse and now all is well, but the removed fuse still looks fine and tests Ok with a meter, there must be a crack somewhere under the plastic I guess, which limits the current that can flow.
Worth remembering in future, to try another fuse even if it don't look necessary.
