me & the wife are off to morocco at the end of this month [april] can anyone give me an idea what to take to wear , ive been told it can be very changeable and to take clothes to cover the heat & cold ?

Can't vouch for anyone else, but for three weeks I took:

1 pair jeans
1 pair shorts
3 t-shirts
1 polo neck shirt
1 summer shirt
3 pairs underpants
2 pairs socks

This was as well as my riding gear:

Dianese vented jeans
2 pairs Nike anti bacterial shorts
3 tech t-shirts
Dianese body armour
race shirt
fleece
Sinisalo enduro jacket
3 pairs summer hiking socks
pair of cheap waterproof trousers
Alpinestars waterproof jacket.

And a tube of travel wash.

For July-August I would say not, but outside of those months Morocco can get unexpectedly cold.

A heated jacket is a flexible solution, you will need various layers anyway. If it's warm you may not get to use it, but at altitude going over the passes it gets chilly especially towards evening.

I usually work with multiple layers on the bike - EDZ thermals, Rohan long T shirt, rohan microfleece and EDZ outer shell. Heated waistcoat if it gets too chilly. Works a treat for me and can add/remove layers as the temp changes.
Last Oct, the temperature varied from -2C in Spain to 35C in Draa Valley.

Remember your antibacterial gel hand wash - invaluable

Cheers

As supplied to us by MikeP.

Also, a buff. Keeps sand out (sort of) and probably saved my head from being fried when I soaked it in water and put it back on (tip c/o Timolgra.)

30 degrees just back from Zagora to Maider Piste, sand storm for 4 days drove at night off road 40 degree C, hot and windy, no paint left on bike. Hell something to tell the kids about...mad

Sand blasting ah thats what they mean......
