put my bike in its main stand to day to check the head stock , I could here a loud clunking noise if I applied the front brake.
Assumed it was headstock loose , the headstock was fine.
The noise is coming from the so called floating disks , the collets are loose ( or made of white metal).
Anyone else suffering from this issue?
What should be considered as acceptable tolerance?

Another trip to the dealers I think is in order:rob

Both my front and rear clonk backwards and forwards , never had a bike that did it before. My headstock was in need of adjustment but my dealer never mentioned the floating discs.
Let us know what the dealer says.

Been to the dealer and asked about the play, the mechanic thought it was quite a bit and we would watch it to see if it increased in the future. I checked 3 new 1190's in the showroom and to be fair they all had nearly as much play as my 7k bike, I'm not too concerned as it can't fall in bits and it brakes fine !
